This year for our family vacation, we went with Bill, Kim, and Kinley to Cayucos, California again. We had such a great time last year that we really had wanted to go again. We stayed at the beach house for a week, and then headed down to Disneyland for a few days. We were able to really relax and spent a lot of great together as a family!

Our First Day
Kim and I spent the morning shopping! We went to a few thrift stores and yard sales looking for wet suits and other things. We hit Costco, the grocery store, a few vegetable stands and then headed back. The dads and kids spent the day hanging out at the house & beach. Later in the day we headed into downtown Cayucos and did a little shopping.
Ryan fell in love with gumball machines! |
We had a great dinner at "Schooner's Wharf".
This was a "pirate" who came up to the window by where we were eating! He was so funny! |
After dinner we walked down to the pier to watch the fishermen and the sunset.
It was so crazy! These fishermen were catching tons and tons of fish- and not using any bait! |
Ice cream on the pier |
Beach Day!!
This morning Ethan got me up at the crack of dawn for our mommy-son traditional hike down to the pier. We walked along, beach-combed, and chatted. We mostly talked about Star Wars, Disneyland, and he told me tons of stories about You-tube videos he had seen! He is such a happy, excited, positive kid. He always has a smile on his face! He brings so much joy to my life!
This little sea lion swam alongside us for awhile! |
I love this butterfly garden! We had muffins and pastries and enjoyed the beautiful flowers!
Time for a quick play at the park before walking back to the beach house...
We spent the rest of the day playing at the beach.

Logan- the beach bum! |
Kinley and I "boogie boarding"!
Feet in the sand, the smell of salt in the air, warm sun on my skin, ocean waves roaring.....what more could I ask for!
Building sandcastles with Uncle Bill...
I love this picture! Logan making friends with some horses on the beach. He fed them some apples! |
Logan loved the beach so much, he wouldn't even come up for lunch! I finally had to drag him up for dinner! |
