HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

October 31, 2010

This year for Halloween we went with cheap/free costumes!  Logan borrowed a robe from his friend and went as Harry Potter.  I made Ethan's costume from white long-johns and gauze.  Ethan used a costume we already had and went as an "Invisible Knight" (whatever that means! LOL)  Chris took the boys trick-or-treating in our neighborhood and then we went over to my mom's for a little bit so she could see their costumes.

It's Pumpkin Time!

October, 2010

We went out to Tolmachoff farm to visit their Pumpkin Patch this year!  They had some really great pumpkins and the kids had fun choosing.  Well........except Ethan!  He was so excited when we first got there!  He was busy dancing around unable to control his happiness and went up to this GIANT pumpkin and leaned on the stem- breaking the whole stem off!  Of course we had to pay for it, so that was his pumpkin!  He was really sad and cried for awhile because he didn't get to "pick" a pumpkin.  But he was okay by the end- when he realized he was getting a HUGE pumpkin that we would have never bought!! : )

Here are my cute Fall Boys!

And here is our pumpkin carving night!

We Helped Build Yoda!!!

October, 2010

Arrowhead Mall had a big Grand-Opening for the new Lego Store.  We went in for their opening weekend to see the new store and to help build a part of the giant Lego Yoda that will be in the store.  We took Ethan's buddy Matthew with us.

They had the kids build individual bricks and give them to the "Master Builders".  The Master Builders were then building a giant Yoda from these blocks.  It was pretty neat!

The Master Builder.  You can see the small Yoda he is using as a guide.

We will have to take a trip back to Arrowhead Mall soon to see the finished Yoda!

Thoughts of Fall........

Today is the first day that it has felt like fall!  We live in this dry hot desert and never really get a feel for weather changing and leaves turning.  We wake up one morning to a cloudy rainy day and think "yeah!  I get to wear jeans today!".  Today I helped in Ryan's class and got to enjoy the kids jumping in puddles and digging in wet sand.  The boys wanted to wear their hoodies this morning because it was a cool 72 degrees.  We rode bikes and scooters in the afternoon before I went to work.  It is finally nice to be outside and not baking in the sun!  To me the smell of the earthy, sandy, wet desert is a sure sign of fall on its way.........

Arizona State Fair!!!

October, 2010

We took the boys out of school early to go to the fair for the afternoon/evening.  On the drive downtown, we noticed Ryan's lower eyelid starting to swell.  By the time we stopped and got our coupons for free tickets and made it to the fairgrounds- his eye was almost swollen shut!  RANDOM!  So I dropped Chris and the older boys off and then spent 2 hours taking Ryan to the minute clinic and getting a prescription filled for him.  They gave him a dose of Benadryl at the clinic and within an hour the swelling had gone down alot!  So we headed back to the fairgrounds and met up with the other boys.

We had lots of fun!  We got the unlimited ride wristbands and were able to go on tons of rides.  We looked at the animals and all the crafts/ collections.  I can't believe how few things there are anymore- hardly anyone enters those things anymore!  Logan and I went to the Blake Shelton concert for a little while.  We ate lots of junk food!  A great time in all!

There's Chris!!

Just ignore those people smooching in the background!! LOL!!
